Gut microbiota composition in the sympatric and diet‐sharing <i>Drosophila simulans</i> and <i>Dicranocephalus wallichii bowringi</i> shaped largely by community assembly processes rather than regional species pool

چکیده

Clarifying the mechanisms underlying microbial community assembly from regional pools is a central issue of ecology, but remains largely unexplored. Here, we investigated gut bacterial and fungal microbiome processes potential sources in Drosophila simulans Dicranocephalus wallichii bowringi, two wild, sympatric insect species that share common diet waxberry. While some convergence was observed, diversity, composition, network structure microbiota significantly differed between these host species. Null model analyses revealed stochastic (e.g., drift, dispersal limitation) play principal role determining both hosts. However, strength each ecological process varied with Furthermore, source-tracking analysis showed only minority within D. bowringi are drawn pool waxberries, leaves, or soil. Results function prediction implied species-specific might arise partly through functional requirement specific selection across host–microbiota coevolution. In conclusion, our findings uncover importance over shaping function.

Changes in the composition and function of the gut microbiota in celiac disease

Evidence is supported the hypothesis that any changes in the composition and function of the gut microbiota play a fundamental role in a number of chronic inflammatory diseases including celiac disease (CD). In the last decade, several culture-independent methods have been developed to identify the components of the human microbiome. The study of microbiota based on nucleic acid analysis found ...

Local and Regional Processes in Community Assembly

Controversy on whether local (deterministic) or regional (stochastic) factors control the structure of communities persists after decades of research. The main reason for why it has not been resolved may lie in the nature of evidence which largely comes from realized natural communities. In such communities assembly history leaves a mark that may support either set of factors. To avoid the conf...

The First Report of Differences in Gut Microbiota Composition between Obese and Normal Weight Iranian Subjects

Background: Obesity is a complex disorder influenced by various genetic and environmental factors. It has been shown that gut microbiota, which colonizes gastrointestinal tract, has a substantial role as an environmental factor in the pathophysiology of obesity. Since the composition of gut microbiota alters with regard to different criteria, such as ethnicity, geographical location, diet, life...

Gut Microbiota Composition in Obese and Normal Weight Adults in Iran

Background and purpose: Increasing prevalence of obesity over the past few decades constitutes a global health challenge. Recent evidence suggests that gut microbiota may contribute to weight control. So, the present study aimed at comparing the frequency of different bacteria in gut microbiota between obese and normal weight people in Iran. Materials and methods: Thirty normal weight (BMI of ...
